Imam Abu al-Fath ʻUthman ibn Jinni al-Mawsili (320–392 AH / 932–1002 CE) was one of the greatest scholars of the Arabic language in the classical period, widely regarded as the foremost grammarian and morphologist of his era. Born in Mosul and later settled in Baghdad, he was a distinguished student of Imam Abu ʻAli al-Farisi and went on to become one of the most celebrated authorities in Arabic grammar and philology. His major works, including Al-Khasaʻis and Al-Munsif, remain foundational references in the Arabic linguistic tradition.
Published by Dar Saʻd Al-Din under their own imprint, corrected and edited with annotations and a thematic index by the former Mufti of Hama.
