About the Book
Qawariʻ al-Qahhar fi al-Radd ʻala al-Mujassimah al-Fujjar
A powerful theological refutation of the anthropomorphists (mujassimah) who attribute bodily qualities and corporeality to the divine essence, defending the classical Sunni Maturidi position on divine transcendence (tanzih) and the absolute difference between the Creator and creation. This is the second work in the series Min Turath al-Imam Ahmad Raza Khan al-Hanafi, Arabised and annotated by Taj al-Shariʻah, Mufti Muhammad Akhtar Rida al-Qadiri al-Azhari.
Imam Ahmad Raza Khanʻs engagement with the question of divine transcendence represents one of the most vigorous strands of his theological output, and this work brings together the most decisive evidential arguments against anthropomorphism in a form that is both scholarly and accessible. The Arabisation by Taj al-Shariʻah makes this important work available to the broader Arabic-speaking scholarly world.
