About the Book

Hashiyat ʻAbd al-ʻAli ʻala Mir Zahid Risalah

Hashiyat ʿAbd al-ʿAli ʿala Hashiyat Mir Zahid ʿala al-Risalah al-Qutbiyyah represents a distinguished contribution to the rich scholarly tradition of Islamic logic, theology, and philosophical inquiry. At its core lies al-Risalah al-Qutbiyyah of Qutb al-Din al-Razi, a foundational text that occupied a central place in the advanced curricula of Islamic seminaries for centuries. The work was subsequently elucidated by Mir Zahid al-Harawi, whose celebrated gloss became a standard reference for students and scholars alike.

Building upon this tradition, Mulla Abd al-Ali al-Laknawi offers a detailed and penetrating commentary on Mir Zahid’s annotations, engaging with intricate discussions in logic, dialectics, conceptual analysis, and the methodological foundations of rational inquiry. His explanations illuminate difficult passages, clarify technical terminology, and provide valuable insights into the intellectual debates that shaped the post-classical Islamic scholarly tradition.
